LOGISTAR PROGRESS

LOGISTAR PROGRESS

This is the 6th and final newsletter of the LOGISTAR project. This newsletter summarises the latest activities and main results achieved in the project.

During these final months LOGISTAR partners have been working hard towards integration, optimisation and testing of the system under real conditions in the three Living Labs. The second optimised prototype of the platform was released in July and the partners have dedicated the last months of the project for final validation of the LOGISTAR platform.

Partners have validated the system for LL1 “Backhauling and Co-loading” and LL2 “Multimodal and international planning of loads”. Half way through the project partners the scope of the third living lab was modified, because of its late start partners are currently working for a preliminary testing of LL3 “Accurate ETA calculation and resource optimisation”, in addition partners have included a validation of the LL1 scalability proof-of-concept, on a so-called virtual living lab (LLV).

The test results have been satisfactory in terms of overall usability and efficiency of the platform, as well as in terms of effectiveness of the implemented algorithms. Nevertheless, improvement actions have emerged from the different tests performed, and valuable conclusions have been drawn to be taken into account in possible future work or extensions of the system.

In parallel to the technical activities, partners have also been working on the dissemination and exploitation of the project. Partners have finalised the exploitation plan, roadmap and business plan for the project. In July a seminar on AI and a 4th User´s Board within IPIC 2021 conference was held and a video on the results on the testing of the living labs by LOGISTAR platform has also been released: link to video.

Finally, LOGISTAR will hold its final event next 22nd September. The event will be splitted in two sessions, the first one at 10am targeting at sharing the scientific and technical results of the project, and the second one at 12pm focusing on the industrial sector, where we will provide a live demo and main testing results explained by project stakeholders. Both sessions will be free to attend, you can join us online (https://deusto.zoom.us/j/91024657930) or physically at the University of Deusto (registrations in this link).

Thanks for following and we hope to see you for our Final Event!
