The Logistar project was introduced at the 5th International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight Transport

The Logistar project was introduced at the 5th International Workshop on Sustainable Road Freight Transport held in Cambridge, UK on 29thand 30th November 2018. 

About 80 delegates attended this workshop which focused on the radical transformation of freight transport systems necessary to address the long-term environmental and social sustainability challenge. On day one the progress towards the electrification of urban and long-haul road freight transport was discussed. On day two disruptive innovations in logistics systems was the focus. On this occasion Professor Neil Lawrence, Director of Machine Learning at Amazon Research, Professor Benoit Montreuil of Georgia Institute of Technology and creator of the physical internet concept, Professor Alan McKinnon of Kuhne Logistics University, and Dr Andrew Palmer of Preston Solutions Ltd were keynote speakers. Andrew Palmer presented an overview of the Logistar project including its aims and objectives, the partners involved, and the work undertaken so far. All four speakers then participated in group & panel discussions.
